![]() ![]() You could try contacting the manufacturer to see what their opinion is. You might need to very carefully tune the output voltage as if one PSU is slightly higher it will supply most of the current and may overload. If they're both full bridge rectifiers on the output then they're protected from reverse currents and may be able to be paralleled. As you said this could cause problems, but maybe not. Parallel will be your only way to get more power out of your setup. Running these PSUs at 10V won't get you 120A, the current is always the limiting factor and the 1200W is only achieved when running at its highest voltage. Putting them in series won't help you as they will still be exceeding their max current. It quite likely has a current shunt and if it exceeds its max rated current it will shut itself down. 1200W/(max psu voltage) will be the max current that it can handle. Your 1200W PSU is most likely limited to 60A and maybe less. Current gives you torque, voltage gives you RPM. You can largely ignore voltage for now - as long as it stays above 15V the tool will run. You need to be worrying about current, not power. This is the first of several videos planned for this series. I tried using the single inverter, and it didn't have enough power, so I'm now documenting the process of adding another 1,200 watt inverter in series. We have a goal of being able to power the M18 table saw with the plug-in inverter (and maybe chainsaw too, but that's not a realistic use case). ![]() I've just published another video related to the M18 plug-in adapter project.
